iPhone to iPhone screen sharing is not as commonly mentioned as casting to larger displays. There are still many people seeking solutions. Many Apple users may first think of AirPlay, the dedicated technology for content streaming and mirroring. However, it’s unusable between iPhones. According to the official introduction, AirPlay only works when sharing content to Apple TVs, compatible smart TV, or Mac.
Is there any method to screen share between iPhones? Yes, of course. Here are four tools you can use. Now, learn how to use them.
FaceTime is the best screen share iPhone to iPhone app because of its pre-installation and SharePlay feature.
How to screen share from iPhone to iPhone with FaceTime?
Step 1. Open the FaceTime app > New FaceTime > Add Contacts. Now tap the icon to start a video call.
Step 2. Tap the Share button at the top.
Step 3. Then, tap Share My Screen.
Bonus:
As you can see, there are several options under the window when you start screen sharing via FaceTime. If you have a specific app or media needed to share with other people during FaceTime, you can make good use of the SharePlay feature.
A list of SharePlay-supported apps will appear, such as Apple Music, Apple TV+, or game apps. Tap it so you can chat while watching or listening to media.
WhatsApp is a popular messaging app with 27 million downloads on iOS devices worldwide. Its screen-sharing feature allows users to share screens in real time. See how to use it on iPhones.
Step 1. Make a video call by tapping the camera icon.
Step 2. When the iPhones are connected, tap Share screen.
Step 3. Next, in the Screen Broadcast window, tap Start Broadcast.
The two iPhones should have the Microsoft Teams app installed.
Step 1. Open the app on the iPhone (the one you want to share its screen as a sender). Tap Calendar in the bottom menu bar.
Step 2. Tap the "+" icon.
Step 3. Tap "#" Join with meeting ID.
Step 4. Add participants. Then tap Done.
Step 5. Open the Microsoft Teams app on another iPhone (the one to receive screen sharing).
Step 6. Tap Calendar. Then tap the camera icon at the right top corner.
Step 7. Select # Join with a meeting ID and enter the ID number and passcode. Tap the Join meeting button.
Step 8. When the session started, tap the three-dot icon on the sender iPhone. Select Share > Share Screen > Start Broadcast.
Steps are quite similar. Firstly, install the Google Meet app on both of the sender iPhone and receiver iPhone.
For the sender iPhone, you need to create a meeting so the receiver iPhone can join. You can:
Step 1. Tap New > Create a new meeting.
Step 2. Tap the copy button and then text the link to the receiver iPhone.
Use the receiver iPhone and tap the shared meeting link. It will open the meeting right away.
Step 3. Tap Join. Then wait until the meeting actually start.
Step 4. On the sender side, tap Join to start the meeting.
Step 5. Tap Share screen.
Can someone see your iPhone screen from another device?
Yes, it is possible for someone to see your iPhone screen from another device, but it requires you to actively share your screen.
If you're worrying about privacy and security issues, you can disable screen mirroring on iPhones.
1) Disable AirPlay & Handoff. Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff to turn it off.
2) Control camera and microphone access. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera/Microphone > Enter and see specific apps. Disable the button.
3) Block the camera and microphone permissions in those third-party apps.
