How to Screen Share on Insignia TV? (iPhone/Android)

If you own an Insignia TV, it's pretty straightforward to screen share from your phone to the TV.

Insignia is a well-known brand under the Best Buy umbrella. Its latest line of smart TVs run on a customized version of the Fire TV operating system, which is based on Android. This system provides an intuitive interface with access to a wide array of streaming services, apps, and built-in features.

Insignia TVs support two primary screen mirroring technologies: AirPlay 2 and Google Cast (Chromecast). These technologies enable wireless connection from mobile devices to the TV, allowing you to easily share content from your smartphone and tablet to the larger screen.

How to Screen Share iPhone to Insignia TV?

1. Ensure both your iPhone and Insignia TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Enable Airplay on your Insignia TV.

Most Insignia TVs support AirPlay by default. If you’re having trouble finding it, follow this: Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Apple AirPlay & HomeKit > AirPlay.

Make its status as ON.

3. Open Control Center on your iPhone.

Swipe down from the upper-right corner of your screen to access the Control Center.

4. Tap Screen Mirroring and select the name of your Insignia TV.

Your iPhone screen will now be mirrored to your Insignia TV.

How to Screen Share Android Phone to Insignia TV?

Now, if you’re using an Android smartphone, you’ll be using Google Cast to mirror your screen. Just like with the iPhone, both your Android phone and Insignia TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi network to enable casting.

1. Enable screen mirroring on Insignia TV.

Go to Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Enable Display Mirroring.

2. Tap “Cast” or “Screen Mirroring” in the control center.

It will show a list of nearby devices.

3. From the list, tap your Insignia TV. Your phone’s screen will instantly begin to appear on the TV.
